Dr. Erin Bettendorf Joins Nura Pain Clinics

EDINA, Minn. April 27, 2022 – Nura Pain Clinics, the Twin Cities’ foremost multidisciplinary pain management clinic, announced today the addition of Dr. Erin Bettendorf to its team of providers, effective Monday, April 25. With the addition of Dr. Bettendorf, Nura continues to expand its fast-growing comprehensive pain management practice.

Dr. Erin Bettendorf

Dr. Bettendorf joins Nura with extensive pain management experience, most recently practicing for a large local hospital system. After working in large hospital systems, she’s looking forward to the new experience of working in a specialized pain clinic.

“Chronic pain impacts people who struggle with it in various ways, and it should be treated with a personalized approach,” said Dr. Bettendorf. “That’s why I’m really excited about joining the Nura team. Their focus on treating the individual patient in all areas from medication management, physical therapy, behavioral health, and interventional procedures helps to treat pain most effectively.”

Dr. Bettendorf first became interested in pain management when she realized what a profound impact chronic pain can have on a person’s quality of life. She enjoys getting to know her patients, tailoring treatment plans that meet their goals, and being a part of the solution for their chronic pain.

“At Nura, we provide the most personalized care for patients that come through our door,” said Dr. David Schultz, CEO at Nura. ”We are eager to welcome Dr. Bettendorf to our team and know she will help Nura continue to serve our patients with compassionate care and the most advanced technology.”

Growing up in northeast Minneapolis, Dr. Bettendorf traveled east to attend Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency through Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and her transitional internship through Yale New Haven Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in chronic pain management at the University of Washington in Seattle. She moved back to Minnesota in 2019 to pursue working as a physician in pain management and is looking forward to continue serving the people of this community.

At Nura, patients can receive a full range of care from medication management, physical therapy and behavioral health coordinated with minimally invasive interventional procedures all within the same practice. This is a critical advantage for patients who otherwise may receive fragmented pain management by multiple providers at multiple locations. For more complex chronic pain problems, Nura offers a full range of implantable pain control options including spinal cord stimulation and targeted spinal drug delivery devices. Nura’s multidisciplinary approach also aims to dial down the need for opioids to treat pain.
